Medical & Safety Training FAQs
- What are some of the training courses offered by Medical Survival Consultants?
- Our healthcare & medical training courses and workplace safety courses always cover the most current topics, technologies, and regulatory information available. The following list is a sampling of some of our most popular courses:
- CPR for the Healthcare Provider
- HeartSaver CPR for the Lay Responder
- AED Training, Seminars and Informational Sessions
- Infection Control for the Dental Healthcare Provider
- Workplace Health and Safety Management
- First Aid Certification
- Hazard Communication "Right to Know"
- Can Medical Survival Consultants accommodate a large group?
- Yes, MSC is designed to host groups of all sizes - from one individual to a large corporation with many employees. We also have an educational facility in southeastern MA that can host a small-to-medium size group. For companies or organizations with a large group (or small group), we will travel to your MA, RI, or CT location, saving you on travel time for employees. Setting up at your location is second nature for us. We also host a variety of public, as well as private, courses around the United States in hotels, conference centers, and college campuses.
- The company I was going to train with cancelled on me because the class didn’t fill. Will MSC cancel any healthcare or workplace safety training courses on me?
- No, MSC does not cancel healthcare or workplace safety training courses based on attendance. We have been known for teaching only one student at a time in many of our health care, medical, and workplace safety training courses. As we always appreciate filling our training courses, we understand that the courses we offer are in high demand and needed on short notice for credentials. For this reason, we will not cancel a course based on predicted attendance so that you can get your credit hours or certifications on time.
- My professor or employer says I need a CPR course that covers a whole list of items, and I am a student or professional in health sciences - what course should I take?
- The course you are looking for is "CPR for the Healthcare Provider," an American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) course found on our Course Listings page. The American Heart Association is the grandfather of CPR. The AHA scientists make the guidelines we follow and all of the other organizations (American Red Cross "ARC," American Safety and Health Institute) purchase these guidelines from the American Heart Association. For this reason we will always recommend the American Heart Association for CPR certifications. The great majority of reputable companies, organizations, and schools require their students and employees to be certified by an American Heart program, or highly encourage the AHA as their organization of preference. Also for CPR, the American Heart courses tend to be priced much lower than the other organizations, a fact that most people don’t realize.
- Medical Survival Consultants provides courses from a variety of organizations. Which health care and medical organizations does MSC recommend?
- Without much hesitation, we recommend the American Heart Association for CPR (BLS-Basic Life Support) courses, as well as ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), PEARS (Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization), and the Airway Management Course. For First Aid based courses such as Basic First Aid, Oxygen Management, Bloodborne Pathogens, and First Responder, we recommend ASHI (American Safety and Health Institute).
- How do you define a "Quality" and "Inexpensive" facility?
- If you are choosing a restaurant for your night out on the town, you are going to base your decision
on a few factors:- What type of food they offer and what you are hungry for?
- Where they are and how far you are willing to travel?
- What type of setting they have, is it elegant, casual, or family style?
- How much will it cost for your meal?
- How much food will you get?
- How does the food taste?
