Course: Hazard Communication "Right To Know"
The Hazard Communication "Right to Know" Course is designed for those working in a variety of workplace settings and positions including HR Managers, Safety Coordinators, Plant Managers, and Small to Mid-sized business owners in manufacturing and retail, etc.
This course is based on the most current OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) guidelines for workplace safety. The seminar is offered to the public a few times a year with the majority of courses throughout the year offered to (one or a group of) companies that contact MSC seeking to have a course offered for their facilities.
- Employers are required to provide and document annual training to employees who may be exposed to chemicals in the workplace.
- MSDS, container labeling - The training format and other considerations make this an area of interest.
- OSHA inspectors are trained to interview employees about when and how they were trained with respect to container labeling, the hazards of chemicals, and how to read an MSDS
- If employees cannot provide adequate answers, or there is no documentation or insufficient paperwork, fines can start at $7,000 and can easily exceed $10,000 for a mid-sized company of 30 - 50 employees.
